Silence Confirms It All

It's odd how quietness shouts so loud. How nothing provides everything. How doubt, like the air - invisible but palpable, feels so certain.

She was never this person before. Instinct has whispered in her ear and suddenly she feel emotions she has never felt this strong. She senses worry creeping in. Things that normally means nothing now means a lot. Questions she doesn't usually ask now run amok in her head. They fill her with anger. They eat her from within. They scream to be released.

But her lips remained sealed.

Perhaps she's afraid to hear it out loud, because by then there won't be turning back. Perhaps she's afraid to get hurt. To say she wouldn't feel a thing would be a blatant lie. It would probably destroy her at one point.

But she will get over it - if there is one thing that is certain. She will stop caring. That single light in the darkest night you cling to, she will switch it off in a blink if need be, without hesitation. And when that switch is turned off, there is no flicking it back on.

That will be it.
